Dr. Carlo Ercoli (MBA ’19, Perio ’12, Prostho ’96), chair, EIOH Prosthodonitics, has been named the 102nd President of the Academy of Prosthodontics (AP).

Dr. Ercoli was formally installed by AP 2024 President Dr. Izchak Barzilay (Prostho ’86, MS ’91,) at its recent annual meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“Your many contributions to not only this Academy, but also to dental education, organized dentistry, and the specialty of prosthodontics, identify you as a proven leader,” Dr. Barzilay said.

“It is with profound humility and deep gratitude that I accept this incredible honor,” said Dr. Ercoli. “To follow in the footsteps of so many distinguished leaders who are giants in our field is a privilege and solemn responsibility.”

Established in 1918, the Academy of Prosthodontics is one of the profession’s oldest and most influential organizations. It played a foundational role in defining prosthodontics as a specialty and helped launch the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 1951. The Academy also publishes the internationally recognized Glossary of Prosthodontic Terms and various consensus-based reference documents guiding clinical methods and standards of care.
